Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need an attorney?

A:  A person can always represent themselves in court, but you may not have the information to succeed.  A good attorney is carefully trained to handle legal matters. Consider this–when you are sick, you see a doctor.  If the plumbing leaks, you call a plumber.  We can always attend to our own needs, but an expert, such as a doctor, plumber, or an attorney, is more likely to get the job done correctly and is worth the investment if the outcome is important to you. If you don't hire a great attorney you will always wonder if you got the best possible result.

Q: Can an attorney really make a difference to the outcome of my case?

A:The legal system can be complicated and laws change frequently in Utah.  Attorneys are trained to gather facts, research and prepare your case, and manage the legal process.  A good attorney can make all the difference

Q: Do I need to bring anything to my first appointment?

A: It is helpful if you bring along all paperwork and information regarding your case.  It is also often helpful if you make a list of questions you have about your case.
